In the wake of, the environmental threat to Great Barrier Reef in Australia many scientists petitioned Australia to pay more attention to the impending doom of this ecosystem. Not only is the Great Barrier Reef absolutely gorgeous, but it is also home to many different species that are all threatened by the instability of the Reef’s future. Many believe it is too late to save everything and that scientists and government officials are now going to have to choose parts of the Reef to focus on and devote efforts to. One scientist has compared this need to triage and says that it is necessary due to the intense effects of climate change on the Reef.
