Intensive Introduction to Reading French

For Whom This Course Is Offered

The course is designed to fulfill the language requirement for the Arts and Science Division Majors at SUNY Albany or at another institution of higher learning. No prior knowledge of French is necessary, although helpful. Pre-arranged Independent Study credit can be earned upon successful completion of the course.This course is ideal for those students who need to fulfill a language requirement for their advanced study degrees and have little or no language experience in French.

Students must pre-arrange the acceptance of 3 credit hours of Independent Course Study upon successful completion of the course with the appropriate people at their institution of study. The Language Learning Institute will NOT be responsible for non-acceptance of credit by the student’s institution if the student successfully completes the course.Final exam is May 10th 2011.

Course Description
This course is designed for grad and post grad students for the purpose of reading and understanding professional journal articles for research. Accelerated introduction to a reading knowledge of French for research.

Learn to Speak French!

In this class you will learn to read and understand basic structures of the French language and vocabulary pertinent to your specialized field.Homework and tests will be assigned to reinforce what is done in the classroom and will be pertinent to the student. The course will be prepared and taught by teachers who have professional experience as translators.
