Delivery Policy

Program Delivery

Any of our languages can be studied in private lessons or group classes. All are offered in real-time by a live instructor through a virtual communication platform. We also offer on-line self study options.  Currently, we do not offer classes in our physical location in Latham, NY.  Join us from the comfort of your own home.

Students come to The Language Learning Institute to study for a variety of reasons: enrichment, remediation, marriage into a family where a foreign language is spoken, travel, and more. The age of the student body has ranged from eight weeks to their 80s. Our classes meet weekly for one hour,(except Mommy and Me)  and homework is given to reinforce and afford practice in the language. When a student enrolls in a private lesson package, they may schedule more than one hour of instruction per week.

Missed Class Policy

Our class policies make language learning convenient and fun. If you must miss a class, the following options are available to you:

  1. Homework Only Option: If absent, notify the instructor and get the homework assignments for the missed class from your teach (no additional cost)
  2. Private Lesson optionto be arranged and held within the missed week for a reduced additional fee.

Missed Private Lesson

If you do need to cancel a private lesson, you may do so with 24-hour notice and still preserve your lesson time. You and the teacher can make arrangements for an alternative day and time. Educationally, the best practice is to reschedule at a mutually convenient day and time for that same week.

Billing and Payment

We bill in 5-week segments and payment is due two days prior to the first day of the 5–week session. For your convenience, we accept cash, check, money order, and payment through the invoice with a secure bank transfer.

If payment is not received by the due date, a late fee of 8%  will be applied to the invoice amount.

What Our Students Are Saying

“Travelling with the Language Learning Institute is a wonderful experience! The groups are small, there is a lot of variety, and the trips are flexible enough that you can break away and do your own thing for a while if you want. I have never really wanted to do that, though, because the planned activities are so interesting. I have been on two trips on which I learned a lot about the different regions of France and even Belgium. The trip cost includes five or so sessions before the trip in which we learn about what we are going to experience and in which we learn a little of the language so that we can at least order in French. There is also a wine and cheese party in which we sample the products of the regions we are going to visit and in which we get to know our trip mates better. I would recommend the Learn French and Travel trips to anyone, but particularly for those who want to visit a country in a way that combines the security of a group with the flexibility to do your own thing!”
