This brilliant film by Vittorio DeSica is an interesting take on life in Italy. This film is divided into three sections, each set in a different part of Italy that symbolically depicts life in each region of the country through beautifully developed characters that reflect their communities of Naples, Milan, and Rome. In each section Sophia Loren and Marcello Mastroianni play the female and male leads in this 1964 Best Foreign Language Film Academy Award winner. This film contains mild sexual content, but is a lighthearted comedy.
