The winner of the 2013 Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film was the Italian film, The Great Beauty. Written and directed by Paolo Sorrentino, this film depicts Jep Gambardella (Toni Servillo), an older man who has just turned 65, navigating his way through the elite night life of Rome. Jep gained his fame from one greatly acclaimed novel and then became a journalist. In this film, the audience watches Jep as he tries to move forward and examine his life. This film contains nudity, mild profanity, and references to drugs and alcohol.

What Our Students Are Saying

“The Language Learning Institute helped me to develop functional conversation skills in French. Despite many years of the language in school, I felt at a loss in being able to communicate effectively. I know I will be more confident as well as better prepared on my next trip to France.”

— Betsey Kuzia (Albany, NY)
