Throughout July, countries around the world celebrate their own versions of this freedom. Rwanda’s July 1st is a testament to sovereignty and healing. Canada honors its founding with pride in its bilingual roots. The U.S. bursts into color on the 4th, while France commemorates their revolution and voice on “Le 14”(Bastille Day, as it is known to Americans). Argentina, Venezuela, Belgium—each has its own story, told in its own tongue. Different histories. Shared spirit.
Because every story of independence is spoken into existence.
