Online French Courses Taught By a Live Instructor

Beginning French: This course of study will take you from greetings to expressing thoughts in the present, composed past, and near future. Throughout the 8 units of study, communication in complete sentences is the goal. Connecting words and an introduction to the use of object pronouns elevates and segues into the Intermediate French program.

Intermediate French: This course starts with a review and expansion of vocabulary themes and expressing activities in the present, composed past and near future found in Beginning French. Throughout these 9 units of study, communication in complete sentences remains the goal and is elevated with the ability to express events relative to each other. This course ends with expressions of necessity.

Advanced French: This course of study starts with a thorough review of Intermediate French. This 10 unit study of the language will allow for continued exposure, use, and study of the upper-level intricacies of the language such as the subjunctive and the passé simple. Historic readings add to the interest and excitement of study allowing for expanded topics of conversation.

On-Line Self-Study Beginning French: This course of study is divided into groups of modules which will take you from greetings to expressing thoughts in the present, past, and near future.  Do you prefer self-study?  Cannot fit live lessons into your schedule? Mommy and Me: For ages 2 months through age 4/5, accompanied by Mom and/or Dad (or other caregivers). This course is made up of 4 thematic units of song, video, and games. Songs and activities are chosen for cultural authenticity and word/phrase/gross motor skill association and development. Once these four units are completed opportunity for continuation is offered.

French for Kids: ages 6 through 10. This course of study is made up of 6 thematic units of song, games, activities, and crafts developed for reinforcement of what has been taught. Each unit builds on the previous unit. Speaking and listening comprehension are emphasized and speaking in short fragments building towards sentences is the goal.

French for Heritage Speakers: ages 6 through 10. This course of study is done completely in French. In this course, children are taught reading and writing. Being in class with other French-speaking children is fun. French songs, nursery rhymes, reading level appropriate books and interaction in French are the highlighted goals of this program.

French for Middle and High School Students: This course of study can take a student from greetings through the advanced levels of study. The first class is used to identify the needs and skills of the students and the ongoing curriculum is adjusted accordingly. Whether this course is being taken for enrichment or remediation, students have enjoyed studying in this program. Our levels follow the same pattern and criteria as listed in our Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced French.

Vite et Bien Conversation: This course of study is conversational and is held completely in French. This course is for those who already speak the language and want to perfect their speech. Each unit of study is topical and easily lends itself to the conversation. Students taking this course will increase their conversation and listening comprehension skills. They will discuss activities in greater detail and depth. Reading and writing skills will be applied to reinforce the speaking skills.

French Pronunciation: This course is designed to help the student comprehend the native speaker as well as improve his/her pronunciation. Students must complete Beginning French Class Level 4 or higher as a prerequisite for this course.

Summer Camp: This one-week language learning experience will allow your child to make new friends while learning beginning French. Games, traditional and educational songs, crafts, and exploration of various books are used to create an engaging atmosphere. The experience will be focused on the spoken word.

Immersion Film Weekend: This seminar is held entirely in French. The student will have the opportunity to enhance his/her listening comprehension as well as participate in an organized discussion of a chosen film. This seminar is for students on the Beginning French Class Level 5 or higher as a prerequisite for this seminar.
