Italian for Kids: ages 6 through 10. This course of study is made up of 6 thematic units of song, games, activities, and crafts developed for reinforcement of what has been taught. Each unit builds on the previous unit. Speaking and listening comprehension are emphasized and speaking in short fragments building towards sentences is the goal.
Beginning Italian: This course of study will take you from greetings to expressing thoughts in the present, past, and near future. Throughout the 8 units of study, communication in complete sentences is the goal. Connecting words and an introduction to the use of object pronouns elevates and segues into the Intermediate Italian program.
Intermediate Italian: This course starts with a review and expansion of vocabulary and grammar themes. In these 8 units of study, communication in complete sentences remains the goal. It is elevated with increased grammatical structures and the ability to express events relative to each other.
Italian in Conversation: This course of study is conversational and is held completely in Italian. This course is for those who already speak the language and want to perfect their speech. Each unit of study is topical and easily lends itself to the conversation. Students taking this course will increase their conversation and listening comprehension skills. They will discuss activities in greater detail and depth. Reading and writing skills will be applied to reinforce the speaking skills.
Immersion Film Weekend: This seminar is held entirely in Italian. The student will have the opportunity to enhance his/her listening comprehension as well as participate in an organized discussion of a chosen film. As a pre-requisite for this seminar, students must be on the Beginning Italian Class Level 5 and higher.
Summer Camp: This one-week language learning experience will allow your child to make new friends while learning beginning Italian. Games, traditional and educational songs, crafts, and exploration of various books are used to create an engaging atmosphere. The experience will be focused on the spoken word.
