Frequently Asked Questions

I will be traveling during 2 or 3 of the class days. How will I be able to take the course?

Each teacher has a special Language Learning Institute e-mail address for easy communication. When a student is absent from class, s/he can e-mail the teacher and acquire the assignment so that s/he can be prepared for the next class.

What about weather?

Since many of our classes are given in the evening, we do close during inclement weather. We usually follow the Shenendehowa Central School District’s pattern of closing. If weather should turn for the worst after the Shenendehowa School District has closed for the day, students will be informed of our closing via e-mail or phone call.

If the school closes for weather, does that mean we lose the class?

No. If the school closes for weather, the class is not lost. The session continues with the next class.

If I miss a class, can I make it up?

No. If a student misses a class, s/he can contact the teacher for the assignment so that they can be back on track with the class for the next class meeting.

If I sign up for a session and do not attend, can I have a refund?

If a student signs up for a session and realizes before the session begins that s/he can not make it, a full refund can be given up to 5 business days before the start of the session. After this time period, a one time partial credit can be given towards another course. This money can not be applied towards private lessons.
If I sign my child up for a camp and then the child cannot attend, can I have a refund?

Cancellations can be made up to two (2) weeks prior to each camp week start date. To cover administrative fees, there is a non-refundable amount of $75 from the pre-paid enrollment amount per child, per camp week. THIS POLICY APPLIES TO EACH CAMP WEEK IN WHICH ANY CHILD IS ENROLLED.

No refund will be made if cancellation is received less than two weeks prior to the camp week start date.

What if I sign up for a session and there aren’t enough students to fill the class?

If there are 4 or less students that sign up for a specific class, we will offer those students whom have signed up private or semi-private classes for an additional fee.
How do I obtain materials for the courses given at the Language Learning Institute?
We are a full service Language School and we do carry the materials and strongly encourage our students to purchase the materials from us. Much time and energy has been put into setting up the necessary business relationships with the various publishing houses that we use. All of the profits that we acquire goes to supporting our programs and the acquisition of ancillary teaching materials which enhance the learning experience.

Do I have to purchase the materials every 10 weeks?

No. The book and workbooks are a onetime purchase and we continue to use them until the end of the last chapter.
